The Blog is back!

I decided a few months ago that I wanted to get back into blogging, but didn’t know if it would be worth it or if I’d have enough interesting topics to talk about.

With some encouragement from my best friend, my wife, and others I’m excited to announce that the blog is back!
I turned 32 this past Saturday, November 10th and decided that this is the right time to make my first blog post on the new www.jeffkblog.com website.

The format is still being decided and will evolve, but I think it will be a mix of personal/family posts, home maintenance/projects posts and random thoughts/events.

This first post will be somewhat short and just a recap of a great birthday weekend.

Nicole took Parker and Zac to the store so they could both pick out a present on their own for me…those always turn out to be some of the best presents. While they were out, I went to Starbucks to order my “free birthday drink”…a Venti Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino with 1 pump of peppermint. (tip: when given a free drink choice from Starbucks, always be sure to upgrade to Venti)

I watched some of the UK football game in the downstairs family room while Parker decorated for my birthday party. I wasn’t allowed to come up until he was finished, and he did a great job!

My mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law, nieces, and new 6 week old nephew all came over to our house for dinner on Saturday. Nicole made some queso dip, little smokies in Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce, and buffalo chicken dip appetizers and we ordered some Larosa’s pizza…a perfect birthday dinner!

We ate birthday cake from Whit’s Frozen Custard in Independence, and also had fresh, homemade cookies. My mom made Cowboy cookies (my favorite) as part of my present!

The kids all ran around the house playing, having a fun evening. They all made it a great birthday! I’m looking forward to another great year!

Oh, my presents from the kids:

• Parker picked out a portable snow shovel to keep in my Jeep
• Zac picked out an ice scraper/brush to keep in my Jeep

Bring on the ice and snow!! 🙂

• And Nicole gave me a book about blogging!
